Manifesto
I care about cinema as a craft—not content, not noise. Council of 3 is my place to protect standards and sharpen taste: human writing that means something, directing that commits, editing that turns intention into guttural experience.
Principles
- Intention over coverage. The camera and the cut should know what the scene wants.
- Meaning over explanation. The audience understands something in their gut, while their head is still figuring out why.
- Restraint is a skill. The strongest choice is often the simplest one made with courage.
- Rhythm matters. Pace is not speed. Rhythm is pressure, breath, and release.
- Integrity survives the schedule. Constraints are real. Standards still matter.
What you’ll find here
- Craft essays (writing/directing/editing)
- Scene breakdowns (why something works, not just what happens)
- Notes from development and post
- Projects in progress (shared selectively and intentionally)
If this matches how you want to work, the best next step is to read a few essays—or reach out to collaborate.
